Baseball Recap: Joaquin Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Joaquin's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the San Augustine Wolves with a sharp 12-1 win. With that victory, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Hunter Kay was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Kaden Miller and Tate Bass did most of the damage at the plate: Miller scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Bass went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in doubles (two). Conner Rios was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Joaquin's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-10. As for San Augustine, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Joaquin is taking a road trip to square off against Shelbyville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. San Augustine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
