            Softball Recap: Hackett Catholic Prep Fighting Irish vs. Martin Clippers        
        
		
        
        
            After low-scoring totals in their previous four  game, Hackett Catholic Prep brought some dynamite into their most recent  match. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Martin Clippers  13-12. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Fighting Irish as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Ellie Kling was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Kling was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with four  runs, two  doubles,  and one  RBI. Those  doubles were  her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Avery Doerr was  incredible,  going 3-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Alexa Rosell, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
Hackett Catholic Prep now  has a winning record of 5-4. As for Martin, the  defeat was their first  on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3.
Hackett Catholic Prep will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Clippers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
