Basketball Recap: Florence's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Florence). They blew past The Colorado Springs School Kodiaks 48-24 on Saturday.

Florence got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Claire Bosley out in front who went 6 of 10 on her way to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Bosley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Martinez, who posted 13 points along with five boards and three steals.

Florence's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2. As for The Colorado Springs School, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florence and Pueblo Centennial will meet in a canine-themed contest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Florence's defense has only allowed 26.8 points per game this season, so Pueblo Centennial's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for The Colorado Springs School, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Swallows Charter Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
