Softball Recap: Bay's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Bay had to endure a six-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the West Harrison Hurricanes on Thursday. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hurricanes, too.

Bea Buice - 2027 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Devin Bourgeois - 2025 was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

Bay's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for West Harrison, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Bay is taking a road trip to take on Pearl River Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for West Harrison, they will challenge Gulfport at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
