Basketball Preview: Alcester-Hudson Cubs vs. Beresford Watchdogs
Alcester-Hudson is 1-8 against the Watchdogs since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Alcester-Hudson Cubs will head out on the road to challenge the Beresford Watchdogs at 7:45 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Alcester-Hudson is ranked 119th, while the Watchdogs are ranked 96th).
Last Thursday, Alcester-Hudson lost to the Flyers on the road by a decisive 72-54 margin. Alcester-Hudson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though Beresford has not done well against the Bulldogs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Beresford walked away with a 73-63 win over the Bulldogs. The win was nothing new for Beresford as they're now sitting on three straight.
Alcester-Hudson's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Beresford, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-9.
Things could have been worse for Alcester-Hudson, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-46 loss to the Watchdogs in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Alcester-Hudson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
