Basketball Game Preview: Waterford Ravens vs. Rowland Hall Winged Lions

Waterford and Rowland Hall are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Waterford Ravens will venture away from home to square off against the Rowland Hall Winged Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterford will be strutting in after a win while Rowland Hall will be coming in after a loss.

If Waterford beats Rowland Hall with 36 points on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Waterford secured a 36-31 W over Salt Lake Academy on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ravens.

Meanwhile, Rowland Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 51-12 loss at the hands of St. Joseph. The Winged Lions were down 38-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Waterford will have to contain Abby Downs as she made an impact in Rowland Hall's last game. She posted six points.

Waterford now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rowland Hall, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-8.

Everything came up roses for Waterford against Rowland Hall in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waterford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
