Recap: First Academy Eagles vs. St. John Lutheran Saints

The First Academy Eagles posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. John Lutheran and snuck past 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

St. John Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryce Disimile, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Disimile scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Brody Gravante, who scored 13 points along with two steals.

First Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for St. John Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Academy will play host again and welcome Seven Rivers Christian, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. John Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Innovation Montessori at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Innovation Montessori is ranked 789th, while St. John Lutheran is ranked 781st).
