River Hill is 8-2 against Howard since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. River Hill will be playing at home against Howard at 4:15 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated after five games, but that won't be the case come Wednesday.

River Hill's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Wilde Lake. The game marked the Hawks' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Howard got the win against Wilde Lake on Monday by a conclusive 16-0.

Austin Proescher was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Proescher was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Abhijeet Singh looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Brennan Giangrasso, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Nystrom, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Howard always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Howard's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for River Hill, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-0.

River Hill was able to grind out a solid win over Howard when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-1. Will River Hill repeat their success, or does Howard has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
