Football Game Preview: Ridge View Blazers vs. Sumter Gamecocks + How To Watch

The Ridge View Blazers will head out on the road to square off against the Sumter Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Ridge View sitting on five straight wins and Sumter on six.

On Friday, Ridge View made easy work of West Florence and carried off a 29-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blazers, who have now won six games by 22 points or more so far this season.

Ridge View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Spencer Bobian led the charge by rushing for 144 yards and one TD while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Bobian's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards. Bijon Virgo was another key player, rushing for 55 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ridge View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 194 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Ridge View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Quency Grant. Ridge View received some extra help from Jaiden Brown, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Sumter beat Blythewood 47-34 on Friday.

Ridge View's record now sits at 6-2. As for Sumter, their record is now 7-1.

Ridge View was taken down by Sumter 49-6 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Blazers were down 28-6.
