Softball Game Preview: Genesee Valley Jaguars vs. Friendship Golden Eagles

The Genesee Valley Jaguars will head out to take on the Friendship Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Genesee Valley's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Friendship's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Genesee Valley's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Alfred-Almond with a sharp 13-0 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by nine runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Friendship was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They lost 17-1 to Bolivar-Richburg.

Genesee Valley pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Friendship, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Genesee Valley took their victory against Friendship in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 25-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
