Basketball Recap: Madison East Comes Up Short

Madison East lost against Middleton back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Madison East Purgolders took a blow against the Middleton Cardinals, falling 92-58. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Purgolders have suffered against the Cardinals since January 17, 2020.

Madison East has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Middleton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-12.

Madison East and Middleton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings. Madison East will take on Albany/Monticello at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday down 298 places (328 vs. 30). Meanwhile, Middleton (ranked 292nd) will meet Oregon (ranked 18th) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
