Baseball Game Preview: Rolla Bulldogs vs. Fredericktown Black Cats

The Rolla Bulldogs will take on the Fredericktown Black Cats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rolla has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Fredericktown will come in with four straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Rolla didn't have quite enough to beat Marshfield and fell 9-8.

Meanwhile, Fredericktown beat Arcadia Valley 9-4 on Tuesday.

Braydan Homan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Homan was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Fredericktown let Ryan Souden and Easton Wood run wild. Souden scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Wood scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those runs were Souden's first of the season.

Fredericktown's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Rolla, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
