Basketball Recap: Andover Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jace Jefferson and Jayden Brown

After flying high against Haysville Campus last Friday, Andover Central came back down to earth. The Andover Central Jaguars lost to the Piper Pirates on the road by a 65-48 margin on Thursday. The Jaguars were probably out for revenge after losing 78-54 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Andover Central had strong showings from Jayden Brown, who posted 19 points and five rebounds, and Jace Jefferson, who had 11 points. The matchup was Brown's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody DeGarmo, who scored seven points.

Andover Central has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Piper, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.

Andover Central has already played their next contest, a 57-49 loss against Maize South on the 24th. As for Piper, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-54 victory against Heights on the 24th.
