Basketball Recap: Kristian Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tonasket over Lake Roosevelt

Tonasket lost against Lake Roosevelt two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tonasket Tigers took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Roosevelt Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Raiders are ranked 44th).

Tonasket's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kristian Jones, who went 11-for-19 to rack up 27 points and six rebounds. What's more, Jones also posted a 58% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tanner Tompkins, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Tonasket's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Lake Roosevelt, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Tonasket didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-59 defeat against Okanogan on the 11th. As for Lake Roosevelt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-55 victory against Liberty Bell on the 11th.
