Basketball Recap: Lake Havasu Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lexi Tuinstra and Vivian Velazquez

Lake Havasu was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 46-32 to the Centennial Coyotes.

Despite the loss, Lake Havasu had strong showings from Vivian Velazquez, who posted 13 points and three steals, and Lexi Tuinstra, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That was a full 53.1% of Lake Havasu's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Centennial was led to victory by Jolie Galbreath and Madison Jacks. Galbreath put up 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Jacks had ten points and seven assists. That's the most assists Jacks has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Swartz, who posted seven points.

Lake Havasu now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 6-14.

Lake Havasu didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-23 defeat against Sunrise Mountain on the 29th. As for Centennial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-51 loss against Willow Canyon on the 29th.
