Softball Recap: Grovetown Warriors vs. Campbell Spartans
Grovetown had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Campbell Spartans with a sharp 10-2 win on Wednesday. Considering the Warriors have won 21 matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Josalyn Sergent made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2023. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Treasure Story was excellent, going 1-for-4 with a home run.
Grovetown didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 12 strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're strikeout total in four consecutive contests.
Grovetown's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 28-4. As for Campbell, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-14.
