Baseball Recap: Edna Takes a Loss

Edna has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.33 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Industrial Cobras. The loss continues a trend for the Cowboys in their meetings with the Cobras: they've now lost five in a row.

Edna saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Floyd, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Edna's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Industrial, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edna will welcome Hallettsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edna's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Hallettsville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Industrial, they will challenge Yoakum at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Industrial is facing Yoakum at the right time seeing as Yoakum is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
