It was a proper cat-fight when Knox Central challenged Bell County on Friday. The Knox Central Panthers skirted past the Bell County Bobcats 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since May 2, 2024.

Blakely Castle made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Those three hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Jayme Swafford was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Hannah Melton was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Knox Central and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knox Central will square off against Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bell County, they will venture away from home to face off against Owsley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
