Basketball Game Preview: Wapahani Raiders vs. Shenandoah Raiders

Wapahani and Shenandoah are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Wapahani Raiders will take on the Shenandoah Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Wapahani came up short against Lapel and fell 38-31. The Raiders have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shenandoah, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 58-36 margin over Faith Christian on Saturday. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Shenandoah's win came from a few key players Wapahani will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kim Farmer, who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points along with five assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilliana Lynch, who posted nine points and seven assists.

Shenandoah pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for Wapahani, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-4.

Wapahani came up short against Shenandoah in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 46-39. Can Wapahani avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
