Softball Recap: Jasper Has No Trouble Against Forest Park

Jasper's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Forest Park Rangers 12-3. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won nine in a row.

Bryn Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 15 Ks.

At the plate, Carlee Rogers was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sophie Werner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Jasper kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forest Park only managed three hits.

Jasper's victory bumped their record up to 13-7-1. As for Forest Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Jasper will venture away from home to face off against Mt. Vernon at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Forest Park, they will host Heritage Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
