Football Recap: Oceanside Pirates vs. Mount Miguel Matadors
Oceanside proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 27) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Mount Miguel Matadors 26-25.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oceanside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neke Letuli, who rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown. Letuli was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. SJ Poumele was another key player, rushing for 73 yards and one score on only nine carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Oceanside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.
