Northwood posted their closest win since September 25, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the North Moore Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.
Shae Leighton paced Northwood's offense, picking up eight kills. Leighton got some help from Emma Dorsey and her 18 assists. Leighton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.
The win made it two in a row for Northwood and bumps their season record up to 4-13. As for North Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Coming up, Northwood will square off against Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Moore, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Chatham Central on the 6th.
