Softball Recap: Palmetto Takes a Loss

Palmetto couldn't beat Crescent on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Mustangs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Halle Tompkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. She also set a new season-high mark in hits with four.

On the hitting side, Graelyn Adams was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Landry Woodson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Palmetto and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Crescent, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Palmetto nor Crescent have any future games scheduled.
