Softball Recap: Socorro Comes Up Short

Socorro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Moriarty Pintos, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pintos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Wednesday.

Desirae Jaramillo was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances. Lilliana Maldonado was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Socorro's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Moriarty, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Socorro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-2 victory against Mescalero Apache on the 22nd. As for Moriarty, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-3 win against Hope Christian on the 21st.
