Basketball Recap: Community School of Naples Takes a Loss

Community School of Naples was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 70-19 loss at the hands of the Neumann Celtics. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Celtics are ranked 210th).

It was another big night for Mylee Van De Wouw, who went 10 for 12 on her way to 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Neumann. Van De Wouw is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracyn Crosby, who posted eight points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Community School of Naples' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Neumann, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.

Community School of Naples will take on Donahue Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Donahue Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. Neumann has already played their next game (against Gateway Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
