Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Tigard

While Tigard didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 67-57 victory over the Franklin Quakers on Friday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Quakers are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the fourth in a row for Tigard, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Franklin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tigard will square off against Forest Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Tigard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Franklin, they will face off against Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
