Softball Game Preview: West Florida Jaguars vs. South Walton Seahawks

The West Florida Jaguars will square off against the South Walton Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

West Florida is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Pensacola a 13-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for the Jaguars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, South Walton entered their tilt with Bay on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Tornadoes 15-3. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

South Walton got a massive performance out of Zoey Kreinus, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Tatum Kreinus was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

South Walton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

South Walton's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for West Florida, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
