Basketball Recap: Minto Lakers vs. Fort Yukon Eagles
Minto won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were dealt a 72-37 loss at the hands of the Fort Yukon Eagles. The Lakers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-18.
Despite the defeat, Minto saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tayla Baker posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roshell Woewert, who earned nine points.
Fort Yukon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nellie Ward, who put up 26 points.
