Softball Recap: Abington Heights Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Abington Heights entered their tilt with Scranton Prep on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Adrianna Condrad made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Cecelia O'Malley was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Avary Brister was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Abington Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Abington Heights' win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Scranton Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.
