Basketball Recap: Frontier Academy Comes Up Short

Frontier Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 85-64 to the Yuma Outlaws. The Wolverines were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-26.

Leading Yuma to victory were Brody Sheffield and Jonathan Thomson. Sheffield posted 32 points along with eight boards and six assists, while Thomson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. With that strong performance, Thomson is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Pensado, who scored seven points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Frontier Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Yuma, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Wray the next time they take the court. Yuma will host Wray at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Frontier Academy will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
