Softball Game Preview: Ruston Bearcats vs. Ouachita Parish Lions

Ruston is on a seven-game streak of home losses, and Ouachita Parish a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Ruston Bearcats will be playing at home against the Ouachita Parish Lions at 6:00 p.m. Ruston will be strutting in after a win while Ouachita Parish will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Ruston turned things around against Neville on Thursday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Tigers.

The team relied heavily on Morgan Foster, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Stoehr, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Ouachita Parish lost 9-1 to Kaplan on Friday.

Ruston's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 9-14. As for Ouachita Parish, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.

Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ruston hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Ouachita Parish struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
