Volleyball Recap: Kimball Cubs vs. Maple Lake Irish
After a string of four wins, Kimball's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Maple Lake Irish by a score of 3-2. The Cubs haven't had much luck with the Irish recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Kimball actually scored more points across those five sets (107-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 21-25, 17-15.
Even though they lost, Kimball was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matchups.
Kimball's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Maple Lake, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-8.
