Baseball Game Preview: Algoma Wolves vs. Kewaunee Storm

Algoma is 2-8 against Kewaunee since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wolves will host the Storm at 4:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Algoma didn't have quite enough to beat Sturgeon Bay and fell 2-1. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Kewaunee had just enough and edged out Sevastopol 7-5 on Tuesday. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Micah Vanness and Connor Kilgore did most of the damage at the plate: Vanness went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI, while Kilgore went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That home run was Vanness' first of the season.

Kewaunee's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Algoma, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Algoma came out on top in a nail-biter against Kewaunee when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 20-19. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
