Basketball Recap: 18 Straight Home Wins for Riverside

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Riverside had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Stone Bridge Bulldogs by a score of 77-70. The victory continues a trend for the Ram in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.

Riverside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Peterson out in front who on his way to 22 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Peterson a new career-high in points. Josh Ntiamoah was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Riverside was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They racked up six more assists than Stone Bridge's also-impressive total of 12.

Stone Bridge's loss came despite strong showings from Kevin Reyes and Sam Rubino. Reyes posted 20 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Rubino en route to 20 points and six boards. Rubino continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kedric Golston, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Riverside's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1. As for Stone Bridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Riverside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 77-60 win against Potomac Falls on the 21st. As for Stone Bridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-62 victory against Massaponax on the 24th.
