Irvington Preparatory Academy's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Christel House Eagles a 19-0 shutout. Considering Irvington Preparatory Academy has won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Matthew Brooks was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Brooks was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Irvington Preparatory Academy got a massive performance out of Corbyn Eaton, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Hunter Schutte, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Irvington Preparatory Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christel House only posted an OBP of .222.

Irvington Preparatory Academy pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Christel House, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irvington Preparatory Academy will face off against Purdue Polytechnic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Techies will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Irvington Preparatory Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christel House, they will be taking part in a tournament against Covenant Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
