Recap: Clovis Wildcats vs. Rio Rancho Rams
On Saturday, the Clovis Wildcats faced the Rio Rancho Rams in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Clovis snuck past Rio Rancho with a 58-52 victory.
It was another big night for Zarai Lewis, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The match was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kailyn Jefferson, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Clovis' victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Rio Rancho, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.
Clovis and Miyamura will face off at 5:50 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Miyamura will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Clovis is ranked first). As for Rio Rancho, they will head out on the road to face off against Eldorado at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
