Volleyball Recap: Mauldin Falls Short Against Ranked Catawba Ridge

Mauldin faced Catawba Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mavericks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Copperheads. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Copperheads this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 two weeks ago.

Mauldin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Catawba Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Mauldin will welcome Wade Hampton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Catawba Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Dorman on the 6th.
