John Carroll Catholic gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Key West Conchs. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Conchs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Brennan Jones was a standout: he scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Preston Sullivan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

John Carroll Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Key West only posted a batting average of .154.

John Carroll Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Key West, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, John Carroll Catholic will square off against Boulder at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Key West, they will take on Berkeley Prep in a tournament on Saturday. Berkeley Prep will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Key West surely won't give up without a fight.
