Volleyball Recap: Arapahoe Triumphs

Arapahoe's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hitchcock County Falcons by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Arapahoe didn't let Hitchcock County take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24.

Emma Strand paced Arapahoe's offense, picking up 12 kills. Strand got some help from Sawyer Shafer and her 14 assists. Grace Andrews controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Hitchcock County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emma Hagan had 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Hagan.

Arapahoe now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hitchcock County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Arapahoe has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Dundy County-Stratton on the 4th. As for Hitchcock County, they will be playing at home against Perkins County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
