Basketball Game Preview: Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers vs. La Plata Bulldogs

The Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers will take on the La Plata Bulldogs at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Grundy County/Newtown-Harris unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 46-42 to Linn County on Monday.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Preston Tovrea, who posted ten points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Tovrea, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, La Plata was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Higbee.

Grundy County/Newtown-Harris skirted past La Plata 47-45 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
