Softball Recap: Gallia Academy Wins Going Away Against Southeastern

Gallia Academy won the last time they faced Southeastern and things went their way on Monday too. Gallia Academy was the clear victor by a 12-3 margin over Southeastern. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Chloe Bennett made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Bennett was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Angel, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Colbie Nida was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Gallia Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Southeastern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gallia Academy will square off against Fairland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeastern, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Southeastern Panthers duke it out with Waverly Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
