Basketball Recap: Barton Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Barton has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 28.7 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They blew past the Rivercrest Colts 83-59. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 24 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Rivercrest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Gonzalez dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. Those 17 points gave Gonzalez a new career-high. Lakiya Speed was another key player, putting up eight points and 11 rebounds.
