Softball Recap: Fredonia Wins Going Away Against Gowanda

After only one run in their last matchup, Fredonia made sure to put some runs up on the board against Gowanda on Monday. The Hillbillies were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Hillbillies in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won four in a row.

Anna Delcamp made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Delcamp was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Fredonia let Ava Muck and Rihanna Benner run wild. Muck scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Benner scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Cassidy Cramer, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

The victory got Fredonia back to even at 1-1. As for Gowanda, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fredonia will take on Allegany-Limestone at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gators will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Hillbillies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gowanda, they will face off against Dunkirk at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
