Baseball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside was the 3-1 winner over Southwest Legacy when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Southside fell just short of Southwest Legacy by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Gonzalez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Joseth Aguirre was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Southwest Legacy, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Coming up, Southside will challenge McCollum at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwest Legacy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games South San Antonio has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
