Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Takes a Loss

Trinity Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. The game between them and the John Milledge Academy Trojans didn't end well, with the Trinity Christian Crusaders falling 48-33. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-50 back in December of 2024.

Isaiah Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten boards for John Milledge Academy. Johnson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Bryce McDonel was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 10 points.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for John Milledge Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tattnall Square Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. As for John Milledge Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bethlehem Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bethlehem Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
