Soccer Game Preview: Torres vs. Maywood CES

The Torres Toros will square off against the Maywood CES Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Torres gave up the first goal on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Sotomayor. That's two games straight that the Toros have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Maywood CES kept a clean sheet against Elizabeth on Monday. They rang in the new year with a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Wolfpack were the better team in the second half.

Mohamad Hijazi and Joseph Gallardo scored both of Maywood CES's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

The win made it two in a row for Torres and bumps their season record up to 2-3-1. As for Maywood CES, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7-1.

Torres beat Maywood CES by a goal in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 3-2. Does Torres have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maywood CES turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
