Basketball Recap: Pontiac Academy for Excellence Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mt. Clemens, Pontiac Academy for Excellence was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Detroit Leadership Academy out 43-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Pontiac Academy for Excellence's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Detroit Leadership Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pontiac Academy for Excellence will square off against Detroit Public Safety Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Detroit Leadership Academy, they will challenge Ecorse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ecorse knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Detroit Leadership Academy likes a good challenge.
