Basketball Game Preview: Claxton Tigers vs. Portal Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Claxton Tigers face off against the Portal Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Claxton came up short against Tattnall County on Saturday, falling 83-62. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Portal came up short against New Hampstead on Saturday and fell 72-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Portal's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Claxton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Claxton took a serious blow against Portal when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 68-39. Thankfully for Claxton, Elijah Coleman (who went 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
