Flag Football Game Preview: Telfair County Trojans vs. Appling County Pirates

The Telfair County Trojans will head out to challenge the Appling County Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Telfair County will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Telfair County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 47-0 victory over Hawkinsville. Give the Trojans' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Telfair County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off seven passes before the game was over. Sarah Williams led the group effort, picking up four of those interceptions all by herself. Ty'Teionna Jones has been hot recently, having posted at least one interception the last three times she's played. Ty'Kristiany Jones got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Appling County fell victim to Fitzgerald and their airtight defense on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Purple Hurricane. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Appling County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Telfair County, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Telfair County strolled past Appling County in their previous meeting last Saturday by a score of 18-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
