Oxnard had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 17-9-1 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Pacifica Tritons with a sharp 8-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Rachel Godoy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Natalie Rodarte was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kayla Lorona was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
Oxnard was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
As for Pacifica, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Pacifica's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Ranck, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
As of now, neither Oxnard nor the Tritons have any future games scheduled.
